Your story is your strongest PR tool.
But most people skip straight to “what should I pitch?” before they’re clear on why they matter.
Here’s the truth: Journalists aren’t just looking for a topic-they’re looking for a voice.
So the real question is: What do you want to be known for?
That’s where your story starts. It’s not your whole life story, or a dramatic backstory you’ve polished to perfection. It’s the throughline that ties together what you do, why it matters, and what makes your take different.
Start here:
- Who are you helping-and why does it matter to you?
– What makes your approach fresh, effective or personal?
– What shift do you want people to have after hearing from you?
Your story doesn’t need to be loud. It just needs to be clear, credible and human.
When you lead with that-your real story-you don’t just get attention. You get remembered.
A strong story gets you in the door. A clear, human voice is what makes you unforgettable.
